Facility Expands Service to Customers in Central Indiana
RICHMOND, VA, Aug. 7, 2013 – As part of an ongoing effort to improve service to customers and maintain an efficient network throughout the Midwest,
UPS Freight®, will open an additional facility in Indianapolis, Ind., on Monday, Aug. 12.
The 72-door East Indianapolis Service Center, located at 1505 S. Holt Rd., will provide service to customers in eastern Greater Indianapolis, as well as areas north and south of the metro region, including the cities of Anderson, Muncie and Columbus. UPS Freight’s existing 80-door Indianapolis Service Center, located at 3747 W. Morris St., will serve the western metropolitan area.
“Adding the East Indianapolis facility to our network will allow UPS Freight to better serve our current customers in the area and welcome new customers throughout central Indiana,” said Jack Holmes, president of UPS Freight. “We’re looking forward to continued growth in the Midwest, and this new facility will help expand our capacity in that region.”
Both the S. Holt Road and W. Morris Street facilities are located near several thoroughfares, including interstates 65, 70, 74, and 465. About 50 employees from the W. Morris Street location will staff the new S. Holt Road service center.
