Singapore, 07 January 2015 – As the Year of the Goat comes trotting around the corner, SingPost is releasing its Zodiac Goat stamp issue to commemorate a new year in the Chinese lunar calendar.
The Zodiac Goat stamp issue is the eighth of 12 sets of stamps in the second zodiac stamp series released by SingPost which began in 2008. The illustrations for this whole Zodiac series, which is designed by Mr Leo Teck Chong, are based on a design concept of “roundness”, which signifies fullness, wealth and prosperity.
This colourfully-illustrated set of stamps comes in three denominations – 1st Local, S$0.70 and S$1.30. The limited-edition Collectors’ Sheet (S$16.80) will make a prized collectible for stamp enthusiasts. It uses offset lithography with a mixture of shiny varnish and silver ink. Also available on sale are the Pre-cancelled First Day Cover affixed with the complete set of stamps (S$3.10), the Presentation Pack (S$4.05) and the 1st Local self-adhesive sheetlet (S$3.00).
